Healthy Recipe for Summer Mango Salsa with a Side a Bai

Samantha with a Bai Malawi Mango and her mango salsa

by New Jersey Nutritionist, Samantha Finnegan

Staying healthy and in shape is a challenge for most because people do not know where to start. The media is clouded by misguided flash headlines of “Crazy Carbs!”, “Poor Protein!”, “Fatal Fat!” and so much more. It is best to turn off the television, take a deep breath, and go back to basics.

Many of us designate “next Monday” as the day we start a “diet”. Well that should end today! Every day, every meal, and every bite is an opportunity to improve your health. Do not allow the daunting word of “diet” be in your vocabulary. Thinking positively is the first step.

The best way to kick-start a healthy lifestyle is by starting simple, incorporate more whole foods! Vegetables and fruits are your best friends. Switch out the pretzels for carrots or baby peppers. Skip the “healthy” granola bar and grab an orange. Making these small changes will help you to feel better, fuller, and slimmer.
